Ovulation test
Beskrivning
Ovulation test to accurately determine the most fertile days
Ovulation is a process that occurs once every menstrual cycle. It occurs when a mature egg is released from the ovary into the fallopian tube and is ready for fertilization. It is accompanied by a rise in LH (luteinizing hormone), which is secreted by the pituitary gland and stimulates the production of sex hormones.
The ovulation test works by detecting elevated levels of LH in the urine. It is very accurate because it detects values equal to or greater than 30 mLU/ml.Ovulation usually occurs 24 to 36 hours after the LH surge. This means that you are most fertile during this period.A rise in luteinizing hormone levels means that ovulation will occur within 24-36 hours and that the egg can be fertilized.
Benefits of the Ovulation Test:
- convenient for self-testing in the comfort of home,
- elevated urinary LH level is the best indicator of fertile days,
- the test result is not affected by other hormones (FSH, hCG and TSH),
- ideal test for women planning pregnancy.
Use
To perform the test:
- First of all, you need to determine the day on which the test will be performed (you calculate this using the table in the instructions).
- Just before performing the test, open the envelope and remove the test strip from it by grasping the top part that is designed to hold it. Be careful not to touch the rest of the test with your fingers.
- Submerge the test strip to the appropriate depth in the urine that you have previously collected in a clean, dry container (to avoid incorrect test results, do not perform the test with the first morning urine).
- After 10 to 15 seconds, remove the test strip from the urine and place it on a flat surface. Observe the movement of the urine specimen through the T test field and the C control field on the test strip. Wait until coloured lines appear.
- Read the result 5 minutes after dipping the test strip into the urine. After more than 8 minutes, the results cannot be taken into account and do not read them again.
- It is recommended that you take each subsequent test at the same time.
Positive result: Two separate lines will appear: in the test field T and in the control field C. The color intensity of the test line T is equal to or stronger than the color intensity of the control line C. This result indicates that ovulation is likely to occur within 24-36 hours.
Negative result: Control line C appears, but test line T is much weaker than it or does not appear at all. This result indicates that there was no increase in LH and you should do another test the next day.
Invalid result: If no line appears or only the T test line appears, the test result is invalid and must be repeated with a new test.
